Threatening to pull out of purchase

according to the vendor/EA, the solicitor posted the deeds to my solicitor almost 2 weeks ago
So... perhaps use a bit of initiative.
Say to the vendor "My solicitor says he has not received them - please get confirmation from your solicitor of when they were sent and how they were sent - and let me know."
If they are original deeds, they will have almost certainly have been couriered (by a company called DX), so everything will be traceable.
How did you choose your solicitor? Were they recommended by the EA?0 -
I'm sure you've already been told this.., you did NOT have to leave your previous rented flat until you'd been served a S21, possession order and bailiffs had come round. That process will normally take 3-4 months, depending on court waiting times.
You DID have a choice. Just you decided to not take the other choice. What LL is doing with relatives who want to move in is nothing to do with you, that's his/her problem.
Sorry you are in the position you are now, but you didn't have to be.
Three months plus for the house buying process is not unusual. Your vendor changing solicitors could actually have slowed the process down further. But you can do as advised above. It does seem like you are allowing yourself to be blown around by gales created by other people lol.0 -
These were the original deeds of an unregistered property and a solicitor committed them to the ordinary post?
Surely this would amount to negligence?0 -

Ok so I lost the head and contacted the vendors solicitor directly as there is definitely something amiss.(I know it's not appropriate, but desperation prevailed)
They advised the deeds were sent through the DX.
Someone is telling lies...0 -
It's difficult to tell if one side or other is lying or whether they genuinely have gone missing. If they have genuinely gone missing then presumably that would cause an issue?
You might as well start looking around at other properties I fear. Do you think threatening to pull out will make any difference? You could just start looking elsewhere and if you find somewhere then pull out of the current one?
