    - novice
    - student
    - practitioner
    - specialist
    - boffin

  • I like the variations on "expert", but doesn't it compound the old argument that post counts give the impression of authority/knowledge? Never agreed particularly with the argument myself but I'm sure some will object.

I still think mrsspendalot's variations on the money theme are the best idea so far - isn't moneysaving what this site's all about anyway?

For a really geeky suggestion, how about Jedi ranks? :rotfl:

  • Just suggested on the feedback board that they should have kept them money related, so the newbie moneysaver, regular moneysaver, ever so regular money saver, but then they could have done fabulously frugal moneysaver, super savvy moneysaver, etc. Surely keeping it money related doesn;t offend anyone and reflects the reason we are all here

    Agreed!

Well, yeah - I was trying to post them in that order! After all, "amateur" and "novice" aren't the same as Expert, they're all building up to that goal.

Personally, I'm really not that fussed - I think all our suggestions are successful in that they're inoffensive, but none of them are much fun!
