Quite comically, but I worked for a call center a while back and part of my job was to cold call councils. We were simply offering free sponsored support which they would 100% benefit from (actually not a "too good to be true" situation either!).
I hated people like you. Ears didn't open and they just assumed that we were being a nuisance. Not to dilute your experiences of other cold calls! But yea, some can be legitimate and YOU can be the nightmare in some circumstances
Worst offenders were young-sounding men from London. Wonder how they got jobs in the first place! I once had a back and forth with one, only for him to continue asking "yes but what are you selling? Tell me what you are selling" and I turned round and said "I'm trying to sell you a free xxx service". Still had no joy on that call
Cold calls are a nuisance and they should be outlawed.0 -
