High vis stuff for dog walkers?

I'd also agree with suggestion for a big waterproof hi vis jacket for you. Anywhere that does 'workwear' will be able to provide you with something, or look at cycling shops/ wiggle
For our dark brown (fluffy) poodle, we have the LED ring that you just pop over their neck- about 2 quid off ebay presumably from CHina. Hubby got a green, a blue and a red so she's disco fashion in several colours and visible!0 -
If you're walking on any shared use cycle paths - a reflective dog lead. Yes they do exist and they do avoid the scenario that I've nearly done, and a work colleague actually done ...
... that of cycling along said path at night, passing pedestrian only to realize that said pedestrian is a dog walker connected to said dog snuffling out of sight on opposite side of path in bushes by an almost invisible thin black extendable leash.0 -

A couple of high vis belts and cheapo flashy collars have arrived. She tried to chew the collar of course so we'll keep a close eye on her or she'll have the electrics out in seconds.
Thanks Yellowbear for pointing out the other type. We'd seen them online and weren't sure of quality. Really good to know they last. Our furry little monster needs to get through her destructive phase before we try one.
Love the idea of a brown poodle decked out like a Christmas tree :rotfl:
A huge thank you again for all your advice and saving us a bit of cash!0 -
Going to have a look at a few of these, although our dog is white and we live between two main roads on a well-lit side road but you can't be too careful. I was already conscious walking her last night at about 8.30, of how the nights are drawing in.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

You know the reflective bands that cyclists wrap around their arms and legs (very cheap from Wilko's)? I use one of them as a collar for my small black and tan dog. Just a thought.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Thanks Lisa for the tip about Wilko, unfortunately we don't have one near us
An update: We got the chance to try out our new gear last night. Our dog had a good chew on her LED collar to start with (entirely predictable) but quickly forgot about it when we started walking. We walked through one particularly dark bit where DH was impressed by how reflective the belt was as a car approached, so I'm counting that as a hit. As we emerged a lady was walking towards us and grinned at us saying 'Well, I could see you three a mile off!' I therefore consider the purchases a success and thank you all for helping us out. We will buy a head torch or something similar as we needed to call the dog over to light up her business and clean up properly0 -
Someone really should invent a dogfood supplement for luminous poo.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
