Virgin media taking 14 days to set up a quickstart account

Does anyone have any experience of moving into a new property and setting up virgin media?

I checked online a few weeks ago ans saw that I'm eligible for 'quickstart' and on the web its states a quick start delivery pack will be delivered 3 days after an order is placed.

I go online to create a new order and the quick start page states it will take 14 days to be delivered.

I've spoken to online chat and they are stating its because it takes 7 days to close down and deactivate the account that is currently live on the property and which actual terminates in 7 days time. So I'll be without the internet for 7 days.

Has anyone else had this experience and is there anything that can be done to speed things along.
