Wow. Thanks for all the replies

She is wearing baby dry 5+ size. I've tried to change when I go to bed but she is such a light sleeper and takes a few hours to go back to sleep. If I don't disturb her she goes through the night from 730pm to 7am !!! So at the moment I'm valuing some sleep and peace time over a wet bed!!

I think nappies are the right size and seem to fit ok. I think the fact that she likes to sleep in her front means there's more pressure on the nappy and more likely to leak.

I read a tip about putting the nappy on back to front if they sleep on their front, I haven't done it myself though.

Lucky you having a little one who can sleep so long, my 2.5 year old has always been a night owl and doesn't sleep before midnight and wakes up a few times before we get up at 8am. He shares a room with me so hopefully when he has his own room we can change these ways!

I used to put my daughters' night-time nappies on back to front as they always ended up sleeping on their fronts. It did seem to work, so I'd say it would be worth a try :)
  • I bought a couple of 'brolly sheets' as my daughter Was very skinny and leaked. They were brilliant when we moved onto toilet training and I still take them on holiday/ grandparents with us several years later for both kids 'just in case'.

I'm a cloth nappy fan, so never had this problem as we just used extra boosting. It might be worth buying an appropriately sized wrap (outer for a cloth nappy), then putting your DD in her normal nappy with a terry square folded into a pad between her legs, then the wrap over the top. If this is not enough, stick a microfibre dishcloth into the pad as well. Terry squares wash and dry easily, and are pretty cheap. They can be used for a multitude of things afterwards. Microfibre is really absorbent but not good next to the skin. Again it dries quickly so you would only need a couple of each if you rinsed them out in the morning.

It's taken some training and a lot of hard work!!!

Do you have an aldi nearby?

We used pamepers/huggies and some own brands and they are all absolutely terrible compared to their Mamia range.

Never had an overflow or leak with them and we will never ever buy another nappy now
  • I'm guessing she drinks water through the day and has her milk at bed? It won't be the one milk that is making her leak, it'll be the amount of water she is drinking in the evening also.

    Limit the water after tea

    We had the same.

We moved her milk from evening to morning. In the evening, she can have as much water as she likes but only in her usual cup, meaning that there's nothing exciting about it and she only drinks if she's thirsty. She was clearly drinking more milk than she needed because she liked it and unusual containers always get her excited and drinking more.

    No leaks since then.
