Interparcel via Hermes delivered parcel damaged, what are my rights?

Hi all,
I booked a 2 day delivery service through Interparcel, who delivered a parcel for me via Hermes. It was a laptop. I paid extra money for the compensation of the value of the item. I sent the item and when it arrived, the box was damaged (I have proof of the item before and after the damage, the parcel before and after the damage, and the packaging inside the parcel being adequate). The laptop inside was damaged, to the point that its value was drastically reduced.
When I go to claim for the damages, Interparcel tells me that laptops are on the list of restricted items, that I ticked a box to acknowledge that, and that my claim has been declined and I will receive no compensation whatsoever.
I did not know that laptops were a restricted item, I informed Interparcel before the delivery that the contents of the box was a laptop and nothing flagged up to say that it was restricted and I should be careful.
Obviously this is extremely frustrating to me and I am losing a substantial amount of money due to the delivery company's error. My question is there any way I can take this complaint higher? Is there any way I can be compensated for the damages to my item?
Thank you for the help.

Laptops are excluded from cover by nearly all the carriers. When you tick the box, you are accepting their T&C. Exclusions are not only common, the list is usually very long. You should have double checked. I'm afraid you won't be covered.0

Has Interparcel voided that exclusion by accepting the contract despite being advised of the contents in advance?
Is it Interparcel's T&Cs that have the exclusion or Hermes'?
Just because something is in T&Cs doesn't mean it is enforceable.0 -
Laptops are not prohibited . They are on the restricted list which states you send them at your own risk.

The following items are deemed unsuitable for shipment by our services, and are therefore restricted. Any of these items being sent may result in surcharges, delays or confiscation by authorities where appropriate. No transit cover or guarantees whatsoever will apply to these items. THESE ITEMS ARE SENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.0 -
It is inter parcel policy, not sure about Hermes. I just feel this is really unfair, I know I should have read the restricted items list but I don't think they made much effort to try and get me to read it, I thought it was just the usual no loose batteries kind of thing.
Is there really nothing I can do?0 -

Agree with this, it is the same when you buy after market tickets "at own risk"0 -

Out of interest what else would you like them to have done to get you to read it? A link and a tick box for you to acknowledge that you have read it seems sufficient to me.0 -

Why have you decided to move your misinformation to a completely unrelated thread, after you were comprehensively proven to be wrong in that other thread?0 -

Sorry friend I have no clue what you are talking about. Also please can we stay on topic and advise the OP rather than drifting on to something else.0 -

Priceless!:T:T
You either have a very short attention span, or are being deliberately obtuse. You are the one who made the erroneous, off topic reference.0
