I think my estate agent has lied to me

I asked my previous estate agent, as i rent a property out, to do tanking all downstairs of my property.

At my last visit I suspect they just covered up and did not do taking at all.

How to an untrained eye can i tell if tanking was done or not?

Sorry to be blunt you have probably wasted your money, you should have stopped the moisture from entering the building which means locating the problem outside and fixing there.
