When does a "free call plan" not include a single call ?

When it's a TalkTalk "free call plan" !!

I was offered a good discount on my LARGE fibre package, by TT on-line chat
£27.40 down from £40.20 including a "free call plan" - Which I took to mean "free calls"
But - this was not the case - it simply means "the ability to use the phone for calls"
What would YOU do about the situation ?

You saved nearly £13. If you need a call plan I'd assume none of them cost that much so add one to suit you. Make a promise to yourself to check what you are signing up for in future before agreeing.

I have no call plan and not even any phone connected to my line as I retained a VOIP contract from when I was with VM and able to save just a little by dropping the landline completely.

OK Where on their website does it say that a "free call plan" is anything other than what it sounds like ?
Rather than "The free call plan means the you do not pay the usual £7.50 per month that Simply broadband costs"
Since when could "Simply broadband" - be classed as calls ?

You have got exactly what you agreed to, but that is obviously different to what you assumed.

Your "free call plan" does include free calls!

Calls made to the following numbers are free:

    111
    112
    116
    999

Calls starting with the following codes are free:

    0500
    0800
    0808

And you get unlimited free calls to other mugs on TalkTalk.

It does explain on their website that you need to add an inclusive call boost to get more.

Your bill should explain exactly what is in your package.

Considering the OP has been complaining about TT for months now, why not just jump ship like a lot of us have already done so to a better ISP?.

I have no complaints about TT as an ISP - my service is good (100% connectivity)
And as for costs - compared to BT - cheap !
It is their admin that is attrocious

Of course it is, that's why it's so cheap. You either put up with it because you think you're getting a deal and it's worth it aggro for the money you save, or go to an ISP that doesn't pare staff costs to the bone and employs competent people that cost more.

This is someone who decided to accept a pathetic worthless bribe from Baroness Hardupnot to extend their contract for a further year, when they could have taken the sensible option and escaped penalty free!

Hopeless whinger incapable of understanding their ISP's website and therefore doesn't realise what is included and what is not.
