Just to put it into context, I recently worked with someone with severe PTSD, psychosis and self harming behaviour who felt unable to live in a B&B due to their mental health issues. They ended up rough sleeping in someone's garage. It may not be what you want but it is a roof over your head until supported accommodation becomes available. That's more than some people get.

ETA - this is not for the benefit of the OP but information I wanted to put out there to show people who think social housing is easily come by that that is not always the case, even for those who are vulnerable and need support.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Well I don't see how they could do that to a vulnerable young person, especially someone involved with social services

What has age got to do with working? You still pay taxes (given that you're earning over a certain amount), working part or full time.

What I was saying is that I ^don't^ think the council has considered anything at all. Anyway, I can't stay in a B&B for longer than 6 weeks (by law), because I'm expecting

The advice i offer is a direct orrelation to how much tax youve paid, go on how much have you paid?

Some people are not happy whatever their given and not grateful that it is a lot more than other can get.

My money's on a personality disorder and the need to seek approval at every turn, or tantrums will be thrown

Why can't you just stay with your partner in the house he owns?

Especially if you're expecting his child? (after asking only 2 weeks ago how to conceive and then not many days later telling everyone you were expecting)

Well until something better becomes available they are making sure you have a roof over your head are they not?

It's not perfect, but it's not costing you a penny and you'll be safer than sleeping on the street, right?

Clearly the B&B is a temporary measure, one you should accept with a mind to working with the council towards increasing the quality of your accommodation over time.
  • cgs, please explain to me how someone with severe psychosis and poor mobility is being 'ungrateful' by being worried about their housing situation, and thus how they will cope? Im genuinely intrigued. Perhaps you've never had to suffer and that's why your comments can flow so freely when they have no background
  • I can't stay with my ex partner because he's an absuive !!!!!!. I don't see how having his child would justify putting up with it. If anything, it gives more reason to leave!
