Hi,
My parents flew yesterday on a Thomas cook flight from Turkey back to Birmingham. The flight was 6 hours delayed.
Initially they were told that the plane was delayed coming in from the UK. They then got a letter stating that there was a "technical fault"
My question is - Can they still claim compensation?

As long as the technical fault was not an extraordinary circumstance which is virtual impossible compensation is due. Which airport in Turkey did she fly from?0

They gave her a letter but it only states "technical" doesn't say anything else so I've no idea whether its their fault or not.

Which airport did she fly from? It makes a difference of how much compensation is due.0

Google and download "Vaubans Guide" It is all explained in there. There is also a template letter so you can add you details and send it to Thomas Cook. You give them 14 days to reply if they fail or say no to compensation you will either have to start court proceedings yourself or hand it to a No Win No Fee solicitor.0

I was going to use the MSE tool?0 -
They are due €400 per passenger. MSE tool is a bit hit and miss and you might find yourself in the position of having to send a Letter before action anyway (from the guide). I who have been through this process would use the guide and send the letter, but your call.0
