New mobile phone contract

My elderly parents decided to upgrade their mobile phones as they had a text message from their provider telling them they can (they did not realize it was an early upgrade). They decided to go into ee shop and got talked into allsorts. EE tried to contact their current provider for puk code but they were closed. My mother went back to shop today to contact to contact current provider to be told she would have tom pay a fine and another three months on her contract. They offered to more than match the EE deals so she was happy. I have done a little research online and found out she can not cancel her new contract with EE as it was done in a shop and not online or on phone. She only signed 1 day ago. Is this correct? Can any one advise me please.
Thank you

If you sign a contract in a shop it's legally binding. You have no "change of mind" rights.

Next time, remember to buy online if you are going to have buyers remorse...
