    To be fair to the op he didn't choose to buy a pair of fake glasses.

    Surely buying cut price "designer" glasses from China should have been the clue?
  • If they offer the correct protection and you like the look of them what does it matter if they cost £5 or £500.
    But how would you know what UV protection (if any) is being given by the lenses?
    If the manufacturers of counterfeit sunglasses don't care about breaking laws over the designs and styles of their products, I doubt very much if they would be spending unnecessary money to ensure that their glasses meet the minimum required safety standards.
