When my second cs started oozing I used tea tree oil solution to wipe over before air drying and it healed really quick, but get a midwife/nurse to take a peek.
Hi, yes sadly there is a good old over hang, don't remember it being that bad with my first. I will definitely try the hair dryer on it, I will have a tea tree oil bath and then give it a blast on the dryer.
I am having a swab taken and being put on antibiotics in the mean time. It started itching yesterday and I think it was a bit wiffy today so it sounds like it needs the medicine.

Hi the exact happened to me. I went to the Dr and he said that I had an infection. He prescribed some cream (I can't remember the name), which I applied daily for almost two weeks.....that seemed to work. Reading your thread gave me goosebumps...I could almost feel the pain. OUCH...will be going through this again soon. Good Luck. Hope you feel in top form very SOON.

put a milton sterilizing tablet in your bath every day. Works a treat!0

I once read an article (which I photocopied and kept!) that described having a caesarean as 'someone cutting you open, pouring on vinegar and then sticking you back together with sellotape that you feel will come undone at any point'
I'll never understand why some women choose to have this done!!
(I thought I'd better add - I've had three!)0 -
i forgot to mention...do not let them give you steriod cream to put on it!!! that what they did to me and it actually thins the skin around it making it worse!
Also I remember my midwife telling me that if it was a stitch abscess then only the flucloxacillin antibiotic would treat it. I went through 2 courses of a different antibiotic before they put me on them though!:dance:Sealed Pot Challenge #338:dance: £1170 to go to be debt free0 -

It depends which bug is responsible for the infection as to which antibiotic will treat it - they usually put you on a 'broad spectrum' (kills most bugs) antibiotic and take swabs to culture and see what is responsible for the infection. If the antibiotic you have been given isn't the best one, it should be changed to a more effective one.i forgot to mention...do not let them give you steriod cream to put on it!!! that what they did to me and it actually thins the skin around it making it worse!

Watch your stomach if you are on fluclox though, both my dd's get such bad stomach problems with it they can't take it now!
Hope you are feeling better now.:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I have had two emergency CS and a hysterectomy using the same cut line three times in all, I was advised to add salt to my bathwater ( I don't know if that is still advised) and it seemed to clear up the wound pretty quickly.
Hope you get it sorted quickly it's hard work trying to heal when you have a toddler as well mine were only 19 month apart.0 -
Fluclox is the standard drug of choice for skin (including wound) infections.0

I have the nicest doctor in the world. She has just popped out to see me and check on the scar. Having a toddler and a baby and not being able to drive, she was so lovely to offer to pop out in her lunch hour.
She said we will carry on with the antibiotics until the swab test comes back, and if it is all clear I can stop taking them immediately.
I feel so lucky to have her as a doctor. I don't know about you, but I find my life worrying about life and the universe and so lovely for her to reassure me.
Thanks all for the tips0
