Landline via mobile phone connection

Is there any method of connecting a regular landline phone to something that takes a sim card so that 'landline' calls can be made/received via the mobile network.
My mother has recently gone into a home and she cannot manage a mobile phone but it would be great if I could connect her 'hi-volume' landline phone to a mobile network?
Thanks

There are some big keyboard mobile handsets - https://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=shop&q=big+keypad+mobile+phone
or with hearing impaired as the extra search term

(some results there seem to be DECT phones which wouldn't b what you want)
This looks like it should fit the bill...

Obviously there may be others better and/or cheaper
A VOIP solution would also be possible but requires more than one box and wouldn't be so simple to set up and use0 -
I'm afraid we have not found a mobile phone that fits the bill. It needs to use a landline phone and we already have an amplified one with good sized buttons. The issue is to be able to connect this to a phone network somehow.
I have discovered that Panasonic sell phones that can be bluetooth'd to a mobile and utilise the mobile network - but not amplified or with big buttons - that would have been good.0 -
I think finding a suitable mobile phone would be the way to go.
Otherwise, I just found this device which allows you to connect a landline phone to a mobile network. I'm not entirely sure how it works -- the website focuses more on data transmission than voice calls (probably because, if you want to make voice calls over the mobile networks, you'd be better off with a mobile phone).

I have seen the Wireless GSM option - and it is an option but it does go to show that the technology is out there.
As I said, she cannot manage a mobile phone, I have tried it and it does not work. If you want to talk about care for the elderly, we can move this to another forum.0 -
Hi, can i ask , what is the purpose in what you ask . (It may help me or others think of a suitable solution)
Why would you want landline phone to work over a mobile netowrk ?
Is it so that you can use call bundles etc ?
Or some other reason ..

She now has no access to a landline so I am trying to find a way to connect her old amplified/big button telephone to a device that will allow a connection to a mobile network.0 -
This appears to do what you want, just a suggestion not a recommendation:

Can't you arrange for a landline to be installed in her room at the care home? It's quite common for residents to have their own line in such places.0

Ahh, i see, sorry for the confusion .. I presumed that the nursing home would have a landline socket - but you wanted to use mobile for some reason instead..
The device listed above would achieve what you wanted it to, but I would suggest that getting a landline installed to the room would be a much better option if that is an option atall.0
