Happy new year! What plans do you have for the year then?

  • Aside from saving for the first six months, I haven't made any New year resolutions as such. I going to make sure my actions make me happy. So I have my 8 goals and I have my "systems" for them to be achieved (but they have been around awhile) and then it is what makes me happy. I have signed up to walk a 1000 miles but that involves the dogs :)

I think my motto might be keep it simple.

happy new year bufster! just caught up on your diary. For what it's worth, I think property is a good investment if it is viewed long term. With interest rates low, you might be able to get a good fixed deal for 5 years or so if you took out a mortgage, or save up and try to buy something outright. As long as your tenants are covering your monthly costs I'd say you can expect to gain in 5-10 years or longer. Effectively, someone else is paying your mortgage and you are building capital with every payment made. Plus interest and management fees are tax deductible.....x
