Hello folks
I have been saving for a while and have 7000ish in my ISA.
Bit of a false dawn however as I decided to borrow 5500 on a 0% credit to pay for teeth and garden......I know it isn't the MSE way and I could have borrowed it from my savings(and that is the point of savings) I just felt safer with an decent amount of money to use if things go wrong. I am still not sure about this as my "ISA" has a rubbish about of interest on it (0.25%). I current owe 4000* on the CC.
*in my drug induced stupor the other day I paid the wrong credit card! was 536 and 6 pence in credit to Tesco! I have had the money sent back now!
Aims of new diary.
1. 10,000 in savings account
2. 3000 emergency/moving out fund
3. No debt
4. Run 5KM
5. Run 10KM (I ran, not well but still, before I broke my ankle and it is well past time I got back to it.)
6. Weigh 10 stone 10 pounds.
7. Made 2000 pounds extra
8. Finish decluttering (nearly there, been seriously at for a year now) and be minimalist!
9. Travel to ten new places (here and abroad in the next ten months)
10. Keep a journal and refocus on containing the depression. As in write down 5 things that have made me happy that day or five positives things, be thankful, be kind. Make sure I go out more.
Plan A
Buy house up north (to rent out and eventually live in - near best friend)
Plan B
Rent a flat down here.
Plan C
Work abroad. (have to say, doesn't entirely appeal but a couple of friends have done it and it enabled them to buy property.)
Any how, starving so off to eat lunch.

Hi Buffy!
I know you want to keep this diary about money saving, but just wanted to give you some encouragement on the moving out and renting plan. You have a great opportunity while your mum is away to get it mostly sorted if that's what you decide to do - I think you should really go for it (easy for me to say, I know).
Two months is a huge chunk of time to clear your head and execute a plan and I think it would be such a good new start for you and really let you take control of things. I know things have been tough this year, but you can do this.
Good luck on your other goals, too. We are similar ages and in the last year I have lost 25 pounds. I am now 11 stone 2 pounds and it is driving me insane that I haven't seen a 10 yet on the scale...let me know if you want me to tell you what has worked for me. Good luck, and go for it!

Happy things.
1. clean sheets
2. toffee apple
3. helpful group on FB
4. my friends
5. Skyfall (yes, am that shallow)
Plus the small n furries are cleaned out AND I did my washing. AND put it away.
Tomorrow's list consists of
1. dust my room (more decluttering)
2. clean the bathroom
3. clean fish tanks
4. clear my desk
5. Sort parcel for returns.
6. Do coloured wash.
I really want to get out in the garden tomorrow. Am ridiculously excited about the pond and other plans for out there.
We shall see

Would your Mum be able to cope with the pond when you leave?"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

I don't think she would have to,where ever I move to I would obviously be round here a lot, and there is a local guy who would service the pond once a month if I went aboard(he gave me a quote to build it), we have been discussing this pond and garden thing for about ............5 years! My sister and her bf have constantly not wanted it and put every argument up not to have it, until a couple of years ago when I put a temporary one in and Mum loved it. She loves the fish, really enjoys watching them.
So far today I cleaned the bathroom floor (!) and cleared my desk. I again stayed up late last night and feel so tired! so stupid.
I feel a nap is in my future. *yawns*Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Great to see you have a new diary with some achievable goals. The only thing that might scupper your savings is the amount of travel you have included. 10 new places (including abroad) may cost a lot and have an impact on the other goals.
I am currently working on a 2 year goal of Financial independence (you may have seen on my diary) and the first thing that has had to go are holidays unless they are free lodgings such as my Sons in Cheshire or my Brother in Edinburgh (both are still little holidays in my eyes). Do you have any friends around the country who you could stay with for free but still do some traveling? I know a nice place in Durham"These things take time but I know that I'm the most inept that ever stepped"0
