EE Data Roaming Charges in EU

Just come off phone with EE trying to arrange the use of data roaming on a pay as I use basis rather than pushed down the "you must have a bundle" route.
The challenge I have been through is frankly a disgrace - I would even go as far to say miss-selling with the contact agent insistent that the option is not available & the manager it was escalated to arguing the same. Without a threat to raise a formal complaint (through what seems like a lengthy complaints process) I would not have achieved it!
I find it alarming that EE are not training their CC staff to offer this option - although I understand why they may not be !
I am a low data user so pay as you use suits - suggest those with same be resilient on calls & insist that EE allow you to access the constrained data roaming charges agreed across the EU ... Whilst they can!

I believe that if you are an EE 4g customer, then they are correct. You must buy a bundle to use data. Don't know about Tmob and Orange rebrands though.0

Tony is correct, EE don't offer pay as you use data while roaming, they don't even offer pay as you use data at home. Why do I need a roaming data add-on?
With a roaming data add-on, you can't run up a big bill using the internet abroad because you’ll only ever be charged for the data add-ons you choose. We'll get in touch when the add-on runs out, and give you the option to buy another.
If you don't buy a roaming data add-on, you simply won't be able to use the mobile network to access the internet while you're abroad and you won’t be charged a penny.

Ask for the "international travel pass opt out" to be added, keep it simple.
Should be 4.4p mb.0 -
Boatman is correct - but it feels to me that you have to force EE to offer you the opt out!
My point is that the do NOT offer this as an option when you first call into the call centre covering roaming - only if you push them or raise a complaint yet pay as you use is available
No bundle required!0 -
That is interesting information thanks.0
