    - so pleased went to get a quote to dry clean my winter coat and the woman at the dry cleaners talked herself out of the business. She showed me (doh!) that I could wash it in the machine and showed me how to detach the fur. Getting the pockets mended for £8 - will be good as new for another winter :-)
    - yey its a first I managed to get over 7,000 bounty points. I have signed up for a summer challenge which enters you to win more points and prizes :-)
    - Planning to go to the seaside tomorrow. Trying to think of some money saving ideas....
    - Did some more holiday research areas, and if I slightly change the resort I can probably reduce the overall price by £500 bringing it to £1,300 and closer to my budget.
    - Don't know how old your kids are Bob but we used to do Geocahing. Its a free treasure hunt, you need to take something really small to put in the box. You write your name in the book and exchange your really small toy or with something else in the box. Some boxes have rubbish in, but my DD enjoyed just finding them https://www.geocaching.com/play

    Hi guys :wave:

    I got most of my to do list done yesterday.

    Booked the other hotel for our trip, which brings it to £300 for us both - just need to sort car hire and then spending money for 4 days/3 nights. :cool: (And we have 150EUR leftover from our last trip - pre-Brexit so I feel rich :rotfl:)
    I'm almost through laundry mountain :eek: Desperate to get through it today!!!
    Batch cooking didn't quite go to plan as OH was hungry :rotfl:

    Need to take the dog out today.
    Look into car hire - will buy separate excess policy online rather than the rental company's one!!
    Shampoo carpets
    Sort garden
    Trip to tip
    Sort a meal plan!!

    On the grocery front...Trying to get it down to £200...Spent £50 in @ldi last week and got loads of store cupboard stuff etc - was feeling quite pleased... but since then we've spent £26 on householdy cleaning stuff (our cupboards were bare so that seemed ok), £12.78 on a top up shop (beer and wine mainly) and £14 (!!) on bin bags (please look past this extravagance - they should last a year :eek:). Anyway, that brings us up to £102. I'm not sure how we can get through the rest of the month on £98!! :(

    Anyway, sorry for the brain dump guys!!! *toddles off to meal plan*

    Morning all :wave: :coffee:
    Managed a lie in this morning until my ginger ninja (cat) moaned me out of bed because it was past breakfast time. Still it's approaching 9am and I'm the only one awake at the moment. Enjoying a bit of tv with a cuppa, and lots of peace and quiet!
    Legomum - hope you've managed to get a better night of sleep and hope the party goes ok today. It's SO annoying when people don't reply to the invites isn't it? Thankfully neither of mine are having a party this year so I don't have that stress to deal with.
    LaE - I'm already over where I planned to be on groceries this month. We seem to get through loads more snacky stuff when the kids are off, which I suppose isn't surprising. Well done on the holiday savings :money:

    Hi August Awesome-ees,

    Three days off after a 47 hour week. Yay! Haven't had time for posting I'm afraid.

    Very high winds today but am determined to go out with DW.

    I've spent nothing all week so far.

    Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * Checked broadband allowance.

    * Use Andrew Johnson's new, free meditation MP3 "Quiet Mind".

    * Did RMS Surveys.

    * Go to local-ish seafood shop and buy just a few high quality items instead of a tonne of rubbish at the supermarket.

    Live long, live well and prosper.

    La E How many bin bags did you get for £14???
    Cat dont worry we are going through a lot more snack stuff too. My son would graze all day if I didnt stop him and eat 3 squares too. I still think Im tight compared to many family groups I see out when we go to Costalots. I couldnt imagine spending £30 on a trip to a coffee shop for a family of 4 but I have been behind people who do. We nornally have 1 hot drink per adult then my son will have a drink and a bag of crisps. Some people all order a cake the kids have the expensive fruit and ice drinks each that are £3 plus (dies of shock) & plus a sandwich....thats probably 3 days groceries for us.

    Lucky Penny we had our first go at Geocaching today. Lets just say we arent er champions yet ;)

    - Researching a holiday to Majorca. Want to go to the north of the island but cant find anything much cheaper than £1,800. I've followed Martin's advice page on this but this is the best I can find.
    We went there in June, during term time and it was inexpensive. Just make sure if you go with a Travel Agent bearing the ATOL ABTA logo in case the company goes bankrupt. ;)
