  • The wheels have come off slightly in that my mother's been ill, so I've been up & down the county taking care of her as my brothers are all away or working FT. She was admitted to hospital two days ago, which has eased things up a little, but meant that I have to visit at visiting time! Which clashed with preparing meals... so yesterday I had to spend £8.10 on pizzas for the Offspring to tart up & cook, as I needed to be down there at the vital moment. Today I don't need to visit 'til this evening, so was able to stuff the (planned) curry into the auto oven & achieve something else that needed to be done whilst it cooked. I feel like I'm spinning plates in the air, but not doing too badly - so far! Just don't look at the washing pile...

  • Finally added up this month so far and I'm at $202.33.

Tightwizard best wishes for your mother!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • Have to confess to a Mr T meal deal for £3 today as it was so hot only iced coffee and sushi would do after work.
All that clutter used to be money

Oh dear, Spent £6.03 today on frozen sweetcorn, celery, carrots, cucumber, mouth wash and sweet potatoes. Have £8.63 to last till the 26th.

I know a true OS'er would see that as a plentiful amount but I am a little concerned. I feel like we would spend that just in milk.

I'm not going down without a fight. :)

No spends yesterday. Not much eaten either Ds was knocked off his motorbike, he's luckily only got cuts and bruises, bike is mangled, so no appetites here. X

    Wow, glad he's ok!

I came in on target last week absolutely on the nose of £65. This week I've spent £63 so far but I am running out of the frozen mixed berries I have with my breakfast and after my evening meal (slimming world member) which will bring me up to £64.50 so as long as I only take the exact money for the berries then that should be ok :D

I'm trying a veg delivery box today - well it's for next week actually but they only deliver here on a Thursday, I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake really as it's £18 and I don't think I normally spend that much on F&V still it's worth a go and if I change the children's snack from brioche/pancakes/crumpets etc to toast and fruit it might balance out and be healthier.

Only had two NSD's this week - hopefully will have one on Friday - must do better next week!

Glad he's ok. When my ds had bike related bumps and scrapes, I was more shaken up than he was, it really upset me. He just shrugged it off.
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

Another weekly shop done, I am now at 184.71/250, however I am sure I have missed a receipt and possibly 2 over the weekend so need to find them or look online. My cupboards are full and I shouldn't need much more this month. I have definitely had at least 2 nsd this week too

£5.34 over the weekend on a bottle of wine for my dad whe. He came for dinner and a bottle of milk. Actual running total 190.05/250
  • Switched to lidl from my usual...gradually have downsized from w@itrose-s@ins-mr T-Morrison and now on lidl... it has been a strange journey... but our average bill was at £160 ish per week and now we are at under £60 per week... also using meal plans... breadmaker and home baking alot more... hopefully can continue in this cheaper style... last years xmas week grocery bill was over £400! I hope that this year it is around £100... mostly as I do not have anymore funds than that...

I now use a meal plan and have inventories of all our cupboard stock... even been preserving... although apparently you can clean drains with my attempt at rhubarb wine and strawberry wine!

off hedgerow picking slow berries and brambles? on friday...

my family think my jam attempts are hilarious as they set so solid you need a chainsaw! haha practice might me better... or else we just stop using jam...:rotfl:

I am tight in on our planned budget now at a balance of £282.11 / £300... all we need this month for sept is milk... we use 4 pints a day so I guess we will go over budget a bit... plus getting low on fruit... (must stop dehydrating it all for cereals)

I did manage 3 NSDs in sept though... of which I am rather proud... don't often get those as we live rurally and order everything off amazon prime as and when needed... Yesterday could of been but i joined a book club at WI and they wanted £1 subs... plus I popped into hobby shop for felt squares...going to try making crafts for xmas gifts...as my jam and wine isn't a friendly gesture...:rotfl:
    Make £/day March: £1490.85 / £310
    Quidco £3,143.16 NSD Mar:14
    2024 Road Kill £1
    March Sales of Excess £240.85
