Exchanging euro cash to sterling?

I have 4000 euros in cash that I want to change to sterling. My bank offers a terrible rate and the post office is the only other offline place I know how to exchange cash. Can anyone suggest a better exchange rate deal please?

Enter 4000 in the 'Amount' field.

Thanks, but all of these either request money to be in the bank transfers or a trip to London. Any suggestions for a good rate of exchange or shall I just accept that I've no choice but to lose out on best deals since I've only got hard cash?

Well, we don't know where you are and what is available locally. Any independent bureau is likely to give you a better deal than the Post Office, especially for the amount you have if you haggle a little.

Are you bold enough to accost people approaching the P.O. foreign exchange counter and offer them a much better rate for euros?
