I would do just that, give yourself a couple of days off, but keep moving every now and then, you don't want to stiffen up.

Can you do some knitting or jigsaws or reading perhaps, and as you say a little walk to H@lfords.
    Take care,

    Take care,
I decided to do her pilates class but throughout she made sure I was ok, there was just one exercise I couldn't do as it was straining my neck - I suspect there may be a little bit of whiplash.  I know when you are injured the worst thing you can do is move incorrectly and imbalance yourself which is why I went ahead with it.
I have caught up on the youtube channels that I follow.  I do have a jigsaw I started months ago and some new wool and a pattern my mum gave me last month that I could start on.  One of the patterns includes some gloves, it wasn't what she got me it for but they will be perfect for after swimming so I might give that a go.  I have also been putting off the arty bit to the next module of my interior design course so I will look at what I need to do for that.
I will go for a walk after lunch and seeing as the oven will be on for my dinner I am going to put a chocolate cake in to bake.  It is a bit of a make up as I go along to use up some ingredients (I never bake this way) so it could be interesting.  I don't like using a food processor when I bake as I don't think it tastes the same but I think that will be necessary today.  I am hoping everything feels a little easier tomorrow so I can go for a longer walk, depending on how I am I have a couple of routes in mind.

I have just looked online at helmets to get an idea before going out, I haven't got a clue where to start so am going to walk to H@lfords and ask.  Unsure if I will buy today as I hadn't realised the cost of some of them!!! I don't intend to be crazy though so will see what they say.
I have been looking online for whiplash exercises, the stiffness in my neck might not be that serious but everywhere I have looked suggests you should start doing gentle exercises straight away and the sooner you start the quicker recovery.  It also says I shouldn't sit still for too long and keep moving about so off for my gentle wander to the shop.  What I would really like is to head in the opposite direction and walk to meet and chat to swimmers at the beach at 5pm but I need to be more sensible today :'(

Thanks @juliejim I have bought a new helmet today so I am ready to go out again as soon as it is possible.
I haven't had time to bake the cake and can't really be bothered, I am making myself a roast though which will do me for at least 2 days.  I will see if my neck/shoulder is ok to lean forward and do some more of my jigsaw in front of the tv.
No plans yet for tomorrow but a walk will feature at some point.

Glad you are getting better after your fall. It sounds scary. Good people stopped for you though. Getting back on your bike soon sounds like a good plan.

@A_Frayed_Knot your suggestion of jigsaws...that is about all I have done all week!  It is good for not snacking as I am a little bit obsessive over trying to get them finish so I have been leaving them to sort meals and that is about it!  Hopefully I will finish the second one today, definitely by tomorrow though.
I was getting concerned last week that I would struggle to get through to the end of the month with my money although I am not really sure why.  I think meal planning went out of the window a little and I just seemed to be constantly spending money, also I had probably got used to seeing a higher balance in my bank when I couldn't go anywhere.  4 days until I get paid and I have a substantial amount left (not on lockdown levels though) and shouldn't need to spend too much, I am hopeful there might even be enough left to clear my credit card balance without having to use next month's money for that.
Loch swim tonight, I am going to try for an hour in the water as I haven't swum that long for ages and then meet up with some club members in the water when I am done as they have a newbies session elsewhere in the loch.

Anxiety levels high again today which means I haven't really stopped.  House cleaned, washing and ironing done and all cupboards and drawers in my bedroom tidied.  Run out of things to do and not swimming for a couple of hours so may go back to the jigsaw but don't think I am in the right frame of mind for this.  I read a good statement last week that I keep replaying in my mind "never believe the thoughts you tell yourself when you are sad and alone".  I am not as low as this statement sounds but do have to keep silencing my thoughts a little today...roll on swim time.

I heard a phrase - thoughts are like birds - you can't stop them coming but you can stop them nesting. It was a visual that really helped me.

    I like this.
My swim was good, around 3k and far colder than I had expected, it definitely wasn't like that on Monday evening.  It didn't quite have the head clearing result I wanted but it was very calm so I spent as much time as I could concentrating on breathing and head position.  Only a month to go and I will be back in the sea.
