It is so annoying that it takes a couple of days for payments to show on my mortgage, I am sure it will infuriate me more when we come to the big OP and I have to wait extra time to be told it has gone for good.
The good news is we are now paying less than £4 a day in interest on the larger mortgage and will never see the £98k's again. We are now under £129k for both mortgages so we are gradually heading in the right direction.
I need to make a shopping list, buy it and go for a walk today but I have been slowed down a bit by dental issues so am going slowly today. I think another cup of tea while I sort out our house insurance and then maybe I will be ready to start on the other jobs.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I have never been away from home for any length of time, so I do imagine its tough going.
but at least you are facing things head on and going for the healthy changes. I however have only used my gym membership once this year, and I am plucking up the courage to clean the oven as I can't hoover as my husband is asleep after working last night.
Hope you keep feeling better, its a glorious day here. Just looking outside makes me feel the winter will soon be over xxMortgage restart June 2018 £119950Re mortgage August 19 £110470, … Mortgage November 22 £85600 final 0% CC 3300Home renovations - £65000, mid 2018 - mid 20220 -
Home insurance renewal quote is the cheapest option for the 2nd year in a row but it was worth doing the legwork to check. It is £12 more than last year's price but we have been lucky enough over the years to get it cheaper each year so I can't complain and I vaguely remember hearing in the news that prices were going up. We have saved this up anyway so the extra £12 won't break the bank, I am glad I save for the annual costs as well as our monthly outgoings.
I also need to check our utilities as they come to an end at the end of the month and I need to extend our travel insurance too.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We have quite an action packed day planned. We are using our Historic $cotland membership to go and visit some places in our county, having lunch out and then going to watch the ice hockey tonight, should cost us £32 for both and we are going for £3.50 total
It is funny how things change, I suggested to Mr AJM that we put the council tax money towards our holiday as we need to find an extra £400 to settle the bill in April but he was adamant I use it towards the mortgage! We will have this money by the time it is required anyway as it would just come from another savings pot but I love how his focus has changed. It is still left to me to coordinate us becoming MF but knowing a huge noose will be gone from around our necks in about 18 months is a great motivator. It will deplete our savings but it will be worth it and then we can work at building our savings up again (I may take financial advice about this when the time comes though).MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I took a few days out last week to go and visit my friends and colleagues where I was working last year and had the best time. I did also have a very harrowing experience , we saw someone having a fit and my nurse friend jumped in to help out, it eventually resulted in CPR and an unhappy outcome. I have never seen anything like that so it is taking my brain a little while to process it.
I should be back in work today but feel terrible. I went to the doctors this morning and couldn't even say what was wrong. It turns out I have a temperature and a pulse rate around 119! I have been signed off work for 2 days and am popping paracetamol and keeping an eye on it as she wants to see me again if it doesn't come down. My line manager has been great and says he is more than happy for me to go out and do my own thing and not to feel compelled to stay in my room. I don't feel well enough to do that today but may go out for a bit tomorrow.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I have just begun to trawl through the minefield also know as energy switching. I called our current suppliers as I couldn't believe they were pretty much the worst of the big 6 for deals based on our usage. They started quoting tariffs based on our energy cost and I lost it with the woman on the other end of the phone after repeatedly asking her to talk to me in cost per month savings rather than baffling me with figures that no one actually understands, she finally got what I was after. Early indications are that we need to leave our current supplier as the deals are appaling, I wonder if they would have been better has we not got a smart meter last year. I am trying to decide between a fairly good saving with another of the big 6 or a slightly better one still with a supplier I have never heard of. I have asked Mr AJM to help me work through the minefield after dinner. I thought that energy companies were meant to have simplified billing etc to make it easier to help customers when switching???
From a health point of view, my pulse rate is still high but now only at 90 and my temperature as come down too. I still feel fairly rubbish but I am at home so my own comforts help. Mr AJM was ready to take care of me but he looks terrible so I am not sure who will be looking after who.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We have done the switch, we have 12 days until our current deal ends so I'm not sure if I will have done it in time but at least it is under way now.
Now all I need to do is top up our europe travel insurance for worldwide or look to see how much it is for a one-trip policy.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Took my car into a dealer garage this morning as they are the only ones that can fix my bonnet that won't open and they have found a serious problem with the suspension arms that needs fixing, total £540
Mr AJM test drove a new car this morning, he would quite like it but also likes the idea of getting rid of the larger mortgage. Less of a mortgage means he can stop working earlier but he needs to work if he wants to buy the car, the same issues the other way around. I guess it is a nice dilemma to have, first world problems and all that, we need to work out what we would like to prioritise. I also priced up getting a new car and trading mine in but I will be waiting until the larger mortgage has gone (mainly down to currently parking in a tight multi-storey at work) and probably buying in 2019.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
