How nice to be able to go swimming again. I am missing that. Congratulations on the extension. As you've said it gives you longer to plan for your future etc. Great news.

There is something deeply satisfying for me when I know I got the best, or very close to the best price for a significant purchase. Well done. I used to love outdoor swimming in the rain (lido, rather than wild). Just a bit damp afterwards!

One of my favourite days of the month - payday, strangely I also like the money shuffle on the 1st.  I have £140.53 left over for the month and the extra £145.81 in this month's pay (tax refund) gives me a nice buffer which I am using for spends.  I have already used £199 for the watch leaving me £87.34 to spend on me, I need to get a screen protector for my watch so that will be first on my list.  There are a few things I would like, I am writing a need/want list (I love lists) so I can prioritise any purchases.
I have a couple of round ups to do for the end of the month so I am sure I will be back later.

I am looking at getting some new fiction books at some point as I have finished all the books I have apart from 1 which I bought at a book signing but is the 10th in the series.  Apparently they can be read as stand alone books but if I am reading them all then it makes sense to start at the beginning but here I have a dilemma.  I would like to support the authors or our local bookshop even though it is a chain store but there is a such a difference in price, especially as I have a kind!e and the money police in me says no.

I have done my first ever "jobs for the weekend' from gardeners world today (not quite the weekend) and have cut back my ornamental poppies and deadheaded my roses although I have been doing this for a few weeks.  My garden bin is full again from all the garden tidy I had done around Easter, if I can use my neighbours bins this week then I should be able to empty the first huge rubble sack and then there is only one left to clear.  The neighbours on both sides have said I can use their bins but I don't like to presume so am hoping to catch them this afternoon.  If I can get it empty I might be able to start filling it to a level I can lift and take it to the tip and try and clear the other bag a bit quicker, unfortunately only one person is allowed out of the car at a time otherwise I would ask Mr AJM to come and help me.
Only jobs left on my list for today are to clean my living room and go for a walk.  I am also making my first ever pie today, I am cheating and using ready made pastry for my first one and will try making from scratch next time...it has only taken me 41 years!!!!!

You are doing really well with the garden. Sounds like your confidence is really growing.

You are very kind but I don't feel that I am being all that adventurous yet, just trying to keep on top of what has been done.  My edible patch is starting to look good though, shame none of it is ready to eat yet!

I have sent a rather small £261 OP to my larger mortgage after the larger OPs I have been making for months, I have also transferred £350 to my ISA while I try and build up more in my easy access account.  I am going to book an appointment to remortgage the larger mortgage, hopefully I can get one for next week when these payments have taken affect.  I know what product I want to take out so theoretically could do it all myself but I have been playing about with the term and I just want confirmation that my calculations are correct.
At some point today I want to total up my spending categories for last month, I also need to meal plan, go shopping and for the first time since 18 March fill my car up with fuel!  I would probably still have loads if I hadn't started swimming again but I am more than happy to be in the water again.
Food and fuel shopping, work online meeting, swim, family quiz and a friend who wants to meet for a walk, while I am glad to be doing things today is one of those days where I feel I don't have much control over my time!

We are rescheduling the walk due to the weather which gives me a little more time.  I have done my meal plan and shopping list.  My meals are getting a little repetitive at the moment, especially lunches so I need to look for some inspiration.  Off out shopping soon, I don't seem to have very much on my list so it might not take very long.
