Somebody over on 1st Central is turning 50 and a shopping voucher would help her with food. Haven't we had a 50th Birthday lady before?

Yes!! The (in)famous 'liked, loved, dreamed' lady. It was used for every comp on FB, I think.....
... until someone called her out on it, when she used that line to win some soup. :rotfl:

BTW, has the Michigan couple been on lately, I've missed them.

Oh yeah, soup lady!:) Was that the one with 'tagging my best friend XXX" in all the posts too and then her bezzie changed to someone else? Or am I getting my crazy ladies mixed up?

I haven't seen the Michigan couple since the advents. Wasn't the son suppose to be visiting? I'm in desperate need for an update(!)

It's Autism/Asperger's galore over on the Smyths FB Lego comp. They only wanted to know what is your favourite thing to build with Lego.

That's why I've avoided that one. I appreciate that there are kids with special needs issues, but I think the parents don't half make a big deal out of it to use it to their advantage. Not fair on the child IMO.....
Or to us who like building multi coloured houses...

That's the one. She had about 4 best mates, and changed them to suit the prize.
I'm fully expecting the Michigan couple to pop up soon. There's Valentines Day, Mothers Day, and surely 'wonderful son' has a anniversary coming up. ;)

  • Don't you hate those baking comps where they ask to see people's creations!?
It's like a list of pics ripped from elsewhere.
on the Dr Oetker bakes twitter there is one which is blatantly a professionally bought cake, still in box and all!
it's tiring. I don't want to win anything unless it is on my own merit.

It is rather unfair. People put effort into their entry and then someone just rips off someone else's work to try and gain from it.

Good thinking, I shall keep my eyes peeled for the Michigan family-it's like a duller but more technically modern version of "Where's Wally?" :)

There was one a few years ago - I think it was waffles, or pancakes, something like that - where you had to post your creations on Twitter. Anyway, someone won with what could only be described as a work of art.............. until someone recognised the picture and posted it on the page, it was copied from the t'internet and used as an entry. So, it was a blatant cheat attempt.
I can't remember if they got disqualified or not, I know lots of folk were slightly miffed by it.
