I have spotted this EXACT phrase from the same fella about 4 times today! Going to have to hit the hide button if it carries on...
lol. I think some of them wear out the copy & paste buttons. I have to admit that I don't see most of them as I now avoid most FB comps.
I'm assuming that this thread is really going to warm up because not only is it Valentine's Day soon, but it's also coming up to Mothers Day & Easter.
It's going to be a lot of fun. :rotfl: And also we are going to really despair, aren't we?

I want to be the lucky one to win this awesome prize. Have a Prosperous Year of the Rooster! Happy Lunar New Year and Happy Valentine's day everyone!
This person copies and pastes this for EVERY fb comp they enter from soup to crisps and teeth whitening kits !!!! Seriously, I bet she will be telling the promotors that she hopes they 'Have a Prosperous Year of the Rooster!' until next year when she changes it to 'Have a Prosperous Year of the Dog! She may change 'Happy Valentine's day everyone!' to 'Happy Pancake day everyone!' from Feb 15th! Watch this space......:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
What is hygge & how do you pronounce it?
Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish word that is a feeling or mood that comes taking genuine pleasure in making ordinary, every day moments more meaningful, beautiful or special. Whether it’s making coffee a verb by creating a ritual of making it then lingering over a cup to a cosy evening in with friends to the simple act of lighting a candle with every meal. Hygge is being aware of a good moment whether it’s simple or special.
So YES hue-gah as in cou-gar :rotfl:
Haha I've been pronouncing (well, more "thinking in my head" as I read to myself, as it's not a word I've needed to say out loud!) it as hug-gee....like taking time to look after yourself or relax (since prizes are often candles, blankets, coffee/tea etc.), which is like giving yourself a comforting hug!0 -

Don't want to be cruel, but it that thing real? It looks a bit squished up, poor thing.
If she wins with that effort, it will be a 'cat-astrophe' :rotfl:
I'll get me coat

I think my newest kindest Facebook book friend XXX deserves this as she won a prize but asked for it to be sent to me so I could put a picture of my 12 year old son David I lost...

"I'd gift to myself - why? Because my darling husband of 25 years is a true romantic (and yes he did propose on Valentine's Day 1990 just 5 weeks after we met!) but sadly for the last 8 years he has been unable to send me a card or flowers as he suffered terrible brain damage whereby he can no longer speak read or write caused by a stroke in 2008. I care for him and l love him more than ever - a nice bunch would make us both smile this valentines - thank you. xx"
Again, whilst heartbreaking if true, I just don't understand the publication of it so widely for everyone to see. To make it worse waitrose replied to it asking for her address as they'd like to send her something for valentines day. I can't help but feel that they are just encouraging sob stories as people can see that they are sometimes rewarded.
Oh dear. I have first hand of the above and whilst I know how she feels I certainly can't imagine using the situation to win a prize. I didn't get a 50th birthday card or pressie from hubs but I did get pressies and cards from family and friends and whilst they were very lovely and I was very grateful and they made me smile, somebody sending me something because my hubs can't - wouldn't make me smile or feel any better. I hold on to the fact that he loves me still after all these years and if he could he would and that's all that really matters at the end of the day.
I don't enter for any comment, Facebook, twitter type comps because some comments are so upsetting and I can't believe that people would use a 'ill health, tragedy' like it. Only one time I ever said in a comp that I'd like to win a wheelchair friendly holiday but purely because if we won a hike up Kilimanjaro it just wasn't going to work and if that was the prize and we won they could just pass us by for a more suitable winner. LOL
Good luck to all, I'm sure at the end of the day it's just down to the luck of the draw rather than what's been written.0 -

First of all sending a :grouphug:
I know on here we have a giggle when it comes to the 'OMG!!' brigade, or people who are celebrating a big birthday and a packet of sanitary towels (using that as an example, I've not seen a comp/response like that :rotfl:) will help them celebrate. But there are times when you look at a story that's been posted to win crisps, and think 'do you really need to post that?' I know that some people have had it really tough and you wouldn't wish their misfortune on anybody, but to use it to try and gain an advantage is rather shameless. I don't get shocked at the stories anymore, but the fact that they have used it to win some tat is really rather unnecessary
I do prefer Twitter comps because with 140 characters, you really can't get into full sob story mode. It seems to be more a level playing field.

Oh dear, seen it. There must be some sore fingers and toes out in FB land as well considering a lot of folk insist on keeping them tightly crossed,:rotfl:
