That made me LOL after just logging on :T:rotfl::T

there are some crackers on twitter too! some people use their sick child constantly, others the fact they are in hospital as we speak! my favourites are the begging cat gifs!

When I'm in hospital I don't have the energy to hold a conversation let alone comp! Then again the last time I was in I was blind in one eye so...:o I wonder how many prizes that would have got me?:D

Otherwise known as the tendency to take a perfectly pleasant concept and squeeze every last penny from it...

  • there are underrhand tactics as well as the sob stories that really get me!
i wish twitter accounts would ban those manual copy and paste retweets of comps. hundreds of them over and over soo annoying and also so sly.
i also wish they would sort out he double accounts thing! there is someone i see who has an account pretending to be his wife, double entering all of the comps!

Anyone know how to pronounce 'hygge'? Is it hyggy as in jiggy? or hi-gee as in hygiene without the 'ene'? or is it hig as in pig?

Hygge is pronounced: hoo-ga (rhymes with nougat - sort of)

:rotfl: hoo-ga as in cougar! :rotfl: I've always thought of it as higgy as in jiggy or figgy! Maybe because I prefer the latter two (a bit of jiggy and some good old figgy pud!)

  • Just seen this reply on a waitrose competition for 2 bunches of flowers, one for yourself and the other for a nominated person.

"I'd gift to myself - why? Because my darling husband of 25 years is a true romantic (and yes he did propose on Valentine's Day 1990 just 5 weeks after we met!) but sadly for the last 8 years he has been unable to send me a card or flowers as he suffered terrible brain damage whereby he can no longer speak read or write caused by a stroke in 2008. I care for him and l love him more than ever - a nice bunch would make us both smile this valentines - thank you. xx"

Again, whilst heartbreaking if true, I just don't understand the publication of it so widely for everyone to see. To make it worse waitrose replied to it asking for her address as they'd like to send her something for valentines day. I can't help but feel that they are just encouraging sob stories as people can see that they are sometimes rewarded. :(

What is hygge & how do you pronounce it?
Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish word that is a feeling or mood that comes taking genuine pleasure in making ordinary, every day moments more meaningful, beautiful or special. Whether it’s making coffee a verb by creating a ritual of making it then lingering over a cup to a cosy evening in with friends to the simple act of lighting a candle with every meal. Hygge is being aware of a good moment whether it’s simple or special.

So YES hue-gah as in cou-gar :rotfl:
