Parking fine from ukps on residential parking.

Hi, I received a parking fine on Sunday (31/7/16), my parking permit was blown upside down, more than likely when I last closed the door, the reason for the fine was "permit upside down, could not validate".
I wrote ukps a letter and included a picture of my permit explaining the situation and included a picture of my permit , the right way up, to prove it is legit, reading some of the threads on here I'm now thinking that may of been a mistake.
They have now replied with a letter which is worded the same as others I've seen on here, they probably just copy and paste it to everyone who complains about there ticket.
What are my options now, from what I gather it's either ignore it, but I can't be bothered being pestered with debt letters etc and certainly don't want any ccj against me. Or appeal with the ias or pay it.
I've had parking tickets before, but I've clearly been in the wrong so paid up, this time it is a petty little mistake and I'm quite adamant not to pay.
Thanks for any advice

Is this UKPC or UKCPS? I assume it is UKCPS as you mention the IPC. Are you a tenant or leaseholder? What does your lease/AST say about parking, exact words.

Google parking own space to get a feel for this scam.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

It's ukps (uk protection services), I'm a tenant, I've lived here for almost 10 years, my original tenancy agreement is long gone so not sure what it says (if anything) when I moved i, I was just issued a permit and we get sent a new one the start of each year.

You seem to know most of the options - you should also complain to whoever employs the PPC and request their assistance in cancelling the ticket

Ensure you follow the advice in the newbies faq thread on how and when to appeal

You can expect to get debt collectors unpleasant letters so steel yourself - they can be ignored

If you do get any correspondence from the court, then that should be dealt with - advice on defending a claim is also in the newbies faq.

You only get a ccj if you lose in court (or ignore the court papers) and don't pay within a month of being ordered to do so by the court

Are you saying you no longer have any documentation setting out the conditions under which you are renting the property? Not just the parking, but every other aspect around your rights and obligations. A little unwise.

Yes a little, it is probably lurking somewhere. But I haven't seen it in years. I have just emailed my housing association about it. They employ ukps to manage the parking, il wait to hear back from them b fore going any further

Same advice as all the other threads you'll find when you search 'UKPS permit' or 'UKPS own space' as keywords on this forum board. Here's a couple recently but there are loads more:

A very common scam, easily dealt with. Depends if it's a BPA or IPC member so do read the NEWBIES thread, to find the right challenge and to see what happens next.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
