Instant Boiling Water Tap

A Quooker on standby will cost about 3.5p a day to keep topped up with water.
That is easily offset and more considering that you draw only what you require and no more. Even a kettle filled to the right quantity had a dead capacity or atleast a cup or sometimes two. We’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks for the replies, which one did you end up purchasing and why did you go for that version?
We purchased a Franke Omni tap as it has an option for filtered hot and cold water as well as mains hot and cold.
We're in a very hard water area; plus, the heavily treated water tastes awful if unfiltered.
Still haven't used it yet though as the kitchen is still resembling a builder's yard.0 -
At £65 a year I should hope it's had no problems - that's the cost of 3 kettles every year !
For that money you could even afford to have a spare kettle in the cupboard for when the normal one packs up at a most inconvenient time.

We are in the process of extending and upgrading our kitchen and were asked if we wanted one. Now we aren't intending to scrimp on the kitchen, granite worktops, oak doors etc, When we were told c. £1-£1.5k for a tap we both nearly busrst out laughing. We currently have a kettle and a one cup water dispenser which cost us £25 on offer which makes and pours a cup of boiling water in 30 seconds while you do something else and we could buy 40-60 of them for the price of one tap!.
If your kitchen space / time is so valuable that you can justify 1k+ to save a 20cm diameter of worktop & 30 seconds a couple of times a day then go for it, but neither of us thought ours was• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

The crazy concept of a boiling water tap being a time saver and useful for people who value their time amuses me. There are times when I am working from home, yet I believe "a watched kettle never boils". So just like everybody else, whilst the kettle is boiling I am checking on emails, referencing material, or whatever else is required.
Yes I value my time, but I do not value a boiling water tap. If I did it would show I have no genuine concept of value!0 -
I use a Breville One Cup - hot water in the time it takes to feed the cat. And I've never known worktop damage as a result of a kettle or a water dispenser. It doesn't take up much space either.0

At least I'm not the only one!
In order to demonstrate I have just got home and made myself a coffee so I thought I'd film it on my phone (complete with noisy 4 year old having his dinner) just to make sure I wasn't deluding myself and wasting my life away 30 seconds at a time at previously untold cost!

.... you can also see from the previous owners decor the reason why we are having a new kitchen installed in the first place!• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

I bought mine originally because my son is disabled and can't lift a kettle safely. With the One Cup, he can make a hot drink. My mum has arthritis in her hands, and after using ours, she has bought one. Definitely worth buying!0

Ours was on special offer @ £160 with the new kitchen. Still a lot more expensive than a kettle, but we like it."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
