Third party phone charges
Hi. Hoping someone can help. Last month I recieved a bill on my 'EE' account for £3.75 from a third party txt service. The company short code listed as browser games. I contacted EE who have put a block on for me. Not sure if this is all third party txt or just browser games. My upcoming bill There are £8 worth of charges. One from browser games and another from a company called mgage. I'm worried this is going to take off and cost a fortune.
The issue is that I never signed up to these services and haven't even recieved any txt from them. I searched this issue on this site and the advice says I can claim the money back but doesn't say who from. It also says to keep the txt I recieved which I didn't get in the first place. EE have already said they won't refund and only offered to block the 3rd party but if they haven't blocked all third party I might be open to getting scammed under different but I suspect the same company using different names taking money every month.
Surely EE has an obligation to keep my account safe from scammers. Any advice? Thanks

Will check out your links. Thank you.0 -
80556 seems legit , have you done one of their competitons and not been careful with the tickboxes ?
Calls cost £1.53 from BT landline, calls from other networks and mobiles may vary and cost more. Texts cost £1.50 + 1 message SNR. to decline networking texts end SMS with NO INFO. Lines close midday 24/01, and 3 days later for postal.

After careful consideration I have replied STOP. I received a free message back saying I have been successfully unsubscribed. I hope that is the end of it.......Ex forum ambassador

We have a spending cap of zero on our Three accounts, it certainly stops us accidentally calling premium rate and similar numbers.
Does anyone know if it will also stop these fraudsters trying to extort money with their SMS text scams?0
