Horizon Parking - ANPR not recognising that I left and returned

Morning all,
Would appreciate some help. I have a NTK dated 25/07 to pay £80 + £1.50 card charge (reduced to £40 + £1.50 if I pay within 2 weeks). The location is Lady Bay Retail Park in Nottingham, ticket issued by Horizon Parking.
The reason stated is that my car overstayed by 86 minutes, and there are pictures of my car arriving at noon and leaving at 4. I don't dispute these pictures are accurate.
What actually happened though was my car left and arrived again between these two times. I visited the car park yesterday to look at the signage (stupidly didn't take photos, can return if it would help!). The rules are 2 hrs 30 mins free parking (except on matchdays, which it wasn't), 1 hour no return.
Now although I am absolutely confident that neither of that day were more than 2 hrs, the driver cannot be sure that a full hour was left between visits, it might have only been 55 mins.
Should I appeal on the signage grounds set out in the newbies thread (I'm pretty sure it is valid) or should I go along the route of 'I don't owe anything as the car left the car park between the arrival and leaving date shown'?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You are a victim of double dipping.
Now go to the newbies faq thread and familiarise yourself with the procedure advised.
Complain to the retailer and ask them to get it cancelled. Show receipts from shopping.
In tandem follow the appeals procedure advised - use the blue type appeal template0 -
No receipts unfortunately. It wasn't the driver who was spending, they were accompanying somebody who was doing some wedding shopping and has since moved to Germany. In contact with The Range and Hobbycraft though, will see where that goes.0

I thought payment fees were a no-no for the BPA? If someone can confirm that, it's worth a complaint to the BPA.
Anyway, you've got 2 options here:
Name the driver as being in Germany, with a German address, where they'll get a letter or 2 and give up as they have no jurisdiction.
Appeal as per the newbies thread, without naming the driver.
In either case, definitely complain to Range and Hobbycraft.0 -
Either way, they are on a hiding to nothing, and it will only cost them money to pursue this. They are highly unlikely to win a court claim. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
