    £2? From where? :eek:

    Originals are being quoted around the £45-50 mark and generics around £20 (though a number of reviews say they don't work - printer won't recognise the cartridge etc.). Hence the request for a website/company that someone has used before.

    A quick search on google shows you can get genuine cartridges for around £25-30.

    If you go on ebay you can get ones that fit for around the £2 a set make. But like others have said there is a chance that these won't work properly and I've experienced this myself.

    Have a look at http://www.choicestationery.com/ for compatibles, I always use them, I had Epson printer and CS exchanged one that failed to be recognised by the printer

    Since changed printer because I foolishly, like Chrishazle allowed Epsom update which put the kybosh on that

  • I get mine from First Call Inks via Amazon. They come with a prominent warning about not accepting updates from Epson.

    I've never had a problem with them. The printer recognises them as non genuine but accepts them in the end, usually after a bit of fussing which involves turning it off and back on a couple of times! It still shows the ink levels too.
  • There has been a firmware update on Epson printers taking the 29 (Strawberry) cartridges, so any printer taking these ink cartridges that was manufactured after January 2016 will not currently accept compatible cartridges, there is a new version chip coming out soon to combat this, however generally, for any printer, make sure when installed it is set not to accept updates if you want to use compats, it's not just Epson, there have been problems with Brother 123, 223 compats and HP 950/951, 932/933, 934/935 compats.
    I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

    Imagine if every car manufacturer started selling their own petrol at £20 a litre, and designed their cars so that they wouldn't work if you filled them with anyone else's petrol.

    If Apple made cars......................... :cool::D
