Covent garden fx - Warning

Hi All,
Just a word of warning about ordering from Covent Garden fx, whilst there rates may be attractive and service generally good if things go wrong or you have cause to complain then don't expect a fast response.
Having complained over a month ago and not being happy with the response I went to the ombudsman (as their site says you can), only to be told by the ombudsman that covent garden fx is no longer registered with the FCA and as such the ombudsman cannot intervene.
Since then I have requested that my complaint be escalated and two weeks later have not had a response to my complaint.

How much have you lost ?"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

The difference in the rate resulted in around a £500 increase in cost, this was at the time of the referendum and I know some will agree with the fx company.
My main reason for posting is to let others know about the lack of service if something does go wrong and also that the company states complaints can be registered with the ombudsman when they can not.0 -
Did you order your currency after you knew the result of the referendum?
before the rates could be changed to reflect the brexit.......if so you have no complaint.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
It was in the middle of the night of the count and the rate was a live rate as it dropped shortly after I placed my order.
Regardless of whether my complaint is right or wrong the company should still deal with it in professional manner and not claim on their site about being FCA registered etc when they are not.0 -
Deep down you know you don't have a legitimate complaint, so why make a drama out of it?
You tried to pull a fast one. If it worked - Gr8. But it didn't. Move on0 -
Just out of interest, if the rate went the other way and shot UP during the BREXIT results... how would you have felt if Covent Garden fx forced you to pay for the currency at the earlier lower rate.
You would probably have said 'why should I be forced to pay for this order, there is no contract', and thrown your toys out of the pram.

They shouldn't be advertising membership that they don't have.
