Fights to Madrid ex Newcastle and ex Manchester

Hello we are hoping to take an easter 2017 holiday to Madrid for 6 adults - ourselves - me n hubby, our 2 adult children and their partners. Trying to price it up and make sense of what appears on websites etc.
We live in Newcastle - 2 of us. Our adult children and their partners live in Manchester. We would like to fly to Madrid on 10th April and return on 14th April.
I am getting a bit of success with flights ex Newcastle which show travel via Heathrow LHR and then transfer to LGW Gatwick onto Madrid. Would the ticket price include the cost of the transfer and how long would that transfer take?
Also is it possible to book a through ticket from NCL to MAD via either LHR or LGW leaving NCL on 9/4 and then getting a morning flight ex either LHR or LGW on 10/4 - obvs happy to fund cost of hotel stay. Similarly for Manchester.
Sorry if this is a complicated enquiry but hopefully looking forward to responses, many thanks indeed xxx

I'm surprised that you haven't found the obvious (and simplest) option: KLM with a change of 'plane in AMS.0

Ryanair fly direct from Manchester to Madrid - bad news is their dates currently only go up to the end of March.
Anyone know when April schedules are likely to be released?0 -
Any ticket with BA that means travel between LHR and LGW does not include the transfer. You have to arrange (and pay) for that yourself. Simplest way is National Express coaches but don't forget to include the cost of that when comparing.
Manchester-Madrid is operated by Ryanair and Iberia Express. Ryanair schedules aren't out yet and it doesn't appear Iberia operate on 10th or 14th April. It may well be worth waiting for Ryanair though...
Another option, if you are able, is to consider Birmingham. This summer BHX has had 4 airlines operating BHX-MAD: Norwegian, Ryanair, Monarch and Iberia Express. This has meant a decent fare war with some excellent prices on the route. Its probably unlikely all 4 will be on the route next year, however Ryanair and Iberia Express have their flights on sale now, and for your dates are £59 return per adult with Ryanair and £79 with Iberia. If Norwegian and Monarch decide to join the party again, those fares will likely stay cheap...0 -
Finally, just looked at BA.com, there are plenty of options from Newcastle of NCL-LHR-MAD and at the base fares too. So I'm not sure why you'd be considering the faff of a LHR-LGW connection? Also is it possible to book a through ticket from NCL to MAD via either LHR or LGW leaving NCL on 9/4 and then getting a morning flight ex either LHR or LGW on 10/4 - obvs happy to fund cost of hotel stay. Yes. You want to search for a "multi city" itinerary.
NCL- LHR 9/4
LHR - MAD 10/4
MAD - NCL 14/4
Depending on exactly which flights you select it can be the same price (or very little more) than without the night stop.

The Iberia web site will usually give you cheaper fares than BA for exactly the same flights.
A bit of flexibility on your dates should identify the direct services on Iberia (rubbish seats, but not the longest flight ever).
Try pricing up flight and hotel on Iberia too. While often expensive you will, from time to time, spot an absolute bargain.0 -
also check out the iberia express website and join the express club, sometimes some deals to be had their over the normal iberia site. Another option is if you have any avios check out ba/avios sites to see what you can get0
