Good luck with the purchase, from my parents experience and that of 100s of people on this forum, there's a very slim chance of the purchase going through without any problems with Evans Halshaw or the car itself.
From what I've read elsewhere some companies add approx. 2% to the price for a full credit card payment as the company incurs the charge themselves. You can pay a small amount on the CC like £200 without charge and you'll get the increased buyer protection.Started 07/15. Car finance £6951 , Mortgage: 261k - Savings: £0! How many of the hundreds of Evans Halshaw threads have been started by a new sign up?
How many of these new sign ups contribute anything else to the forum?
There will be people that have problems with cars from a dealer group that sells thousands of cars a year.
That is just how things are.0 -
Hi,
Just put down a deposit of £400 on a ford fiesta that cost £9400, but need to pay £9000 by credit card because the loan hasn't come in yet for the car. will they charge me and if they do how much will they charge.
if anyone can help me, thanks.0 -
I'm not sure that paying by credit card matters? Unless it's an AMEX of course which might be an issue.
Surely if you're paying by VISA / MasterCard it's not that much different to paying by Debit Card? We bought a Volvo XC60 for £19000 and paid by Visa debit card with no problem.0 -

My wife bought a pre reg Fiesta from EH Walsall in March and it was one of the least problematic car purchases we have ever had. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the purchase went without a hitch after travelling from Sheffield to collect it.
We paid by debit card (no charges) so can't comment on any CCcharges but for large purchases a lot of companies add 2% as the card company does charge them.
On the other hand our experience with EH in Sheffield whilst we were looking at cars was totally different and I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.0 -

There's a big difference in the charges between a debit and a credit card, which the retailer looks to pass on.
It's wise to at least put a deposit on a credit card for section 75 cover.0 -

That's a bit cheeky, put deposit on my last car purchase on a credit card without charge, £500.0 -
