A warning not to be stupid and rely on technology

So,I purchased home insurance via comparison website then clicked links to Best Buy. Opted to download PDFs rather than having documents posted to me. Don't waste paper, save the planet etc.
So far so good.
Now ,9 months on I dropped my iPad and it is completely dead.

Any ideas who I'm insured with, what my policy number is etc?

So my advice to hang with the planet always ask for documents to be mailed to you.
I am now waiting patiently for them to send me a reminder when it comes renewal time.
By the way comparison site not at all helpful they say they don't know yet they sent me a meerkat on completion of purchase and have note of my renewal date.

Yep technology is wonderful but don't rely on it too much.

Would also like to know how I can get my books back or does anyone know the ending to......

Are the insurance going to accept a claim 2 or 3 months after the incident? Check your bank and see who you paid?

Why don't you look at your bank statements from the time? Surely there will be a payment direct to the insurer?

Yes,bank statements emails etc all stored on iPad.
Have contacted bank to ask for duplicate statement to be sent.
Really just feel stupid to have relied so much on one piece of technology.
Learnt my lesson the hard way.
