YES! :) The Oldies Club always need blankies for the older dogs. Or if you feel like being adventurous there are patterns for "doggy jumpers" (they're pretty easy!) and squares could probably easily be sewn into a blanket etc.
Otherwise I am certain that help the aged might appreciate them if they were sewn together to a lappie size blanket for the elderly now the cold season is upon us... I just gave a crocheted blanket to my nan and grand dad that I made and they want a second one so they have matching ones in the nursing home :)

  • Or something along the lines of the jumpers for the penguins that were caught up in the oil slicks...

It would be great to be able to knit something simple that would be of help to our poorly animals in this country. I don't just mean blankets, perhaps there's vets out there thinking if only we had...

A loose, stretchy vest worked wonders to keep my dog from licking her operation stitches, she didn't mind and didn't bother with her stitches at all. Admittedly it wasn't knitted it was one of my old ones, but you get the idea. Heard of someone who had a small dog and they used a baby grow to stop their dog getting to the stitches.

lol coats are great too! the coats when we get them get "I need a home" stitched on them so that our foster dogs when they go out on walkies can esily be seen and people know that they are looking for a home :)
