Morning all, mizzly and drizzly here. The forecast is not great so I'll probably get home looking like a drowned rat. Am working late so probably a very tired rat.
OH made a cassoulet last night with half of one of the pork joints I bought half price and they are labelled belly pork but are pork loin. So more actual meat and less fat.
Work this week has not been much fun, I think it is me, losing my joy in a job well done. We'll see, I do need to keep going for now but I'd rather like to retire quite soon. I have some nicer things to do today, am going in a bit later as I am owed so much extra time. This is frowned upon but unavoidable for many of us.
LaineyT and Deleted_User I am thinking of you and your families today, am so sorry that people are so poorly.
Now my OH is in the bathroom, just when I wanted to get ready. He doesn't need to, he's not going anywhere except to his computer, where he will save the world for democracy by reading all the news sites before sitting down with the paper.
Son is still sleeping, he was just going to bed when I came down for a wee in the middle of the night.
Hope you all have a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was a relaxed one with a little home workout as my daily exercise. My step-brother and fiance came over to visit and they brought presents from South Korea such as glove like socks, a jigsaw puzzle, dried fruit and skin care products which was very thoughtful of them, particularly when I know they're not the most affluent.
Today I'll go a run at lunch time and I'm not sure what the evening plans are yet actually. I noticed my GF left her things (make-up etc) at mine so I'll assume shes coming over again tonight.
TA - Bargains!! Some great finds, well done.0 -
TA, well done. I think I'll have to brave a visit to Boundary Mills this week. I usually avoid places like that like the plague but I want to get some sandals for DS' wedding.
Lainey and Csarina, I hope there is good news on your poorly ones.
Speky, congratulations on your job and well done for holding out for a bit more money.
Coxy, good luck to your DH.
I've not got a lot to say because I've been ill the last few days so things have rather ground to a halt here. We're off to Yorkshire today for a few days so I'm hoping I'll be well enough to do a bit of walking (and Boundary Mills which I'm sure will be as tiring as a 10 mile route march!).0 -
Change of my loose plans - its tipping down outside though not cold. I''m not driving all the way up to Oban in the downpour.
Snoozer - hope you feel better soon.
I'm eyeing up the yet-to-be-used steam cleaner!0 -
GERS I use the steam cleaner regularly on kitchen and bathroom floor but only tried out the handheld bit once! One day ,,,,
SNOOZER hope you soon feel better. There was a sale on sandals yesterday at Boundary Mill, with an extra 10% off too, but I think that ends this week! Is it the Colne one you have in mind? That's the one we went to.
Well the shrubs and bushes got cut down, sawn up and bagged far quicker than we anticipated and Mr TA has gone on a tip run with them already! (The garden waste bin was already full to overflowing from the other side of the garden and they will only empty one bin and no bags!) The fence looks even worse now it's not concealed behind bushes but we've done enough for one day and the removal of that can wait a little longer, eyesore or not!
My DB has just been with our sausage order which is very welcome as we have been sausageless for quite a while. (The butcher who makes them had an op which went the wrong way!) We could have bought some elsewhere but these sausage are so yummy that no others compare!
Well time to walk little Roxy I think. Me and DS walked her up to the moors at 8 a.m. this morning when he arrived with her. That was a shock to the system!!
Then a dunk in the shower to get all the garden grime off and relax a bit before my night with the girls! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Shuddering at the thought of Boundary Mill! My late Great Aunt used to love me taking her there for the day . It's like a scene from the film Cocoon :rotfl:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Afternoon all
hugs to csarina and Lainey x
Showery here, meet OH for a nice lunch at local Italian restaurant (2 courses for a tenner). Soon I'll be going to pick up OH's kids from the summer sports club they are in, I'll take them to my parents for a bit til OH can fetch them once he has finished work. I have an acupuncture appt nearby so I'm going that way anyways. Hoping acupuncture will coax the baby out!
Nothing OS here other than general tidy round.

Very well done on all your bargains. I don't think I have been to Boundary Mill but got some fantastic bargains online in the sales at an outlet shop for dd's wedding and also our wedding blessing at about a third of the price.
Lainey and csarina
I hope you get positive news soon.
I am shattered now as I spent this morning cleaning the non working six foot freezer with anti bac. I then emptied a lot of kitchen cupboards and put the stuff in the freezer which has freed up a lot of space. I have also emptied another couple of big boxes and am sorting through them. I was being very efficient and emptying lentils from a tall container to smaller ones when the lid came off  The kitchen floor and counters are now vaced and clear of lentils
Fortunately I have some cooked chicken to have for tonight with salad as I don't feel up to cooking.

CANDYGIRL my DD wouldn't agree with your comment! She absolutely loves it there and would quite happily spend all day browsing the various outlets and departments if she had the time, especially the upstairs ones! And she would never buy her Yankee candles and picture frames anywhere else!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Hi . I'm back from my long weekend away 6 miles from home. The weather behaved itself yes it was windy but perfect for kids and Hubble to go sailing. So relaxing. Saturday saw various members of my family come . My 2 year old nephew just plunked himself in a kayak and sung row your boat. My niece was so brave and went out in a sailing boat with our friend whose boat house it is, she is blind in one eye but fearless. Later a friend cycled down and went kayaking.Sunday my brother in law visited and took me out in rowing boat twice, getting in and out is a work of art as I normally use a walking stick.Monday I went to the other end of the lake in a boat with a small outboard motor for an ice cream.
It was lovely the kids love sailing and kayaking. Also saw lots of wildlife such as herons, and Canadian geese practising flying in formation.
Today back to normal and four loads of washing line dried.
Extra hugs to poorly people.0
