I bought a camera from the place, back in the days when 2MP was the rage, it was after christmas in the sales. A olympus item.
When i got it home, i turned it on to find 3 pixels on the CCD screen out. Therefore i took it back asap, to be told that this was acceptable. Well in my eyes it was not, and the item was replaced. I turned that one on, and this one had 1 out, again, another item was sourced and eventually one was found with all pixels present.
What happened to keeping the customer happy..
I just said that if 1 pixel was accurate today, what will it be like in 12 months..

Sorry, but calling them names when you are wrong doesn't look very good!
There is a limit to the number of dead/always on pixels allowed on LCD screens and it isn't zero. Many shops/stores would refuse to take such an item back because it is still saleable and fit for purpose. Not many would do it automatically and without question. Unpleasant, but true.
Anyone who did replace it is actually showing far greater level of customer care than you are prepared to allow for.0 -

Most of the people who do this (and make snotty comments about the staff at PC World) know far less about computers than they make out.
Many PC World computers have a built in recovery system which the user is supposed to make a backup from. In all the cases of some clown installing Linux I came across, no one had ever made a backup of thsi recovery system (which the PC usually nags you about when you turn it on) and so they had effectively erased their copy of Windows off the machine and destroyed the install disk!
The manufacturers will not usually supply a copy of Windows without charging at least £25 for it, except where a missing/faulty copy is reported within a few weeks of purchase.0 -

While the above may be true, how is it relevant to a machine with a cracked hinge? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
