Can I switch From BT fiber?

Hi,
I moved into a new build last October and the house came with a BT openreach Fiber optic phoneline. The developers said we have to stay with BT for the first year however I would like to switch now or in October once the first year is up. The BT installation is unlike any other I have seen before. (I say this as a home security enginner who regually wires alarms into phonelines). I have a Fiber optic termination point then a Mains powerd transformer powering some kind of electronics module with LED lights. Very much not a standard master socket! All this equipment is BT openreach branded. So will it be a simple switch to another provider???

It sounds like you have FTTP. You can switch, but not many providers offer it so your choice will be limited.0

BT, Zen and AAISP are your options.0

This post is very helpful, I was just wondering the same. I know it's only been a couple of weeks, but is there any chance that there are more providers yet? Zen seem expensive on the monthly charge (Althought their line rental is cheaper than BT)26/05/2018 = I DID IT! I am DEBT FREE!
Debts repaid since 06/02/2015 = £23,079
Mortgage...forever!!!! - But who cares, when all I've ever wanted is my own place!:j0 -
Not at the moment0

There are others who will offer FTTP but you probably won't find their pricing any better.0
