Just quickly picked that error up

I'm not sure" I impatiently wait for your response" is a great thing to say.

I think that the bit about the credit card repayment date is irrelevant in any language and totally puzzling to the French who don't go in for them much.

OP - why the big issue and letter to France re this ?

SNCF have a UK office well versed in these issues http://help.uk.voyages-sncf.com/en/if-your-train-delayed though I'm not sure where you're going to get on a claim for EUR700+ on GBP218's worth of original tickets

Did you have travel insurance that can pick up the pieces ?

Did you write in French or expect them to be able to read English?
    I do not speak French
Better to get a real friend who speaks French to write it, if possible.
I don't have a friend who speaks fluent French

I did originally speak to SNCF UK who told me to write a letter to SNCF HO in France and include all the original tickets and costs.
Travel insurance would not do anything as they say cancellation is an act of god!
The original tickets were £218 which they would not accept after the train was cancelled even though it was for the same journey and I had to buy further tickets for 715 euros plus the 19.80 euros extra car park fee for being late. We also missed our pre booked ferry £165 due to the delay and had to book another crossing at a further cost of £100.

So the return journey should have cost £383 but actually cost £483 plus 734.80 euros

So was the train cancelled due to weather conditions or technical reasons?

If its weather then they have a bit of a get out with force majeure but technical issues are not an act of god

Read your insurance policy carefully... usually strikes are covered so long as you did not know about them (and could not have known about them) at the time of booking.

Attendre avec impatience = look forward to (no impatience involved)

Surprisingly auto-translation has got that (more or less) right

I expect whoever is handed the letter will be able to read English. Saying g that you could have taken into consideration that their English was not to your level and rather then write a novel could hedge just put bullet points of your issues and what you expected them to do. Probably would have been dealt with by now!
