We are currently paying £61 a month.

I really meant your current standing charges & per kWh rates.

I did a price comparison and found one with Avro who I've never heard of that works out as follows:

    Gas
    2.415p per kwh
    16.800 per day standing charge

    Electricity
    9.975p per kwh
    19.425p per day standing charge

    Would this work out better?

Pretty sure you could probably do even better for gas e.g look at Zog unless you are a massively huge consumer. Zog masy have a marginally higher unit price (depending on your region) but will almost halve that daily standing charge.

A I said, depends on your consumption, though. A comparison site is the way forward here.

In regards your initial question, are you happy to pay that price today? The upside is that you know you'll be allowed to pay that price until 2019 if you wish, no matter what happens to prices. So it depends what price you are prepared to pay for that security of price.

Remember, you are not actually obliged to remain with the supplier. You don't say if early exit fees apply; if not you can leave any time without penalty; if they do, then early exit fees are rarely more than £30 per fuel and you might be able to get at least £20 per fuel as cashback for switching, so effectively only £10 loss.

I think we all knew that, but by providing not only what we all know is a totally meaningless figure, but a response in a totally different format to the earlier similar reply, is a great way to string people along, isn't it? ;)
