  • Hi,

We got the news today that our offer on the new house has been accepted :D

Spent a lovely day with the in laws, love them to bits.
Woo hoo!!! Fantastic end to the year!
  • Yay. fantastic news Here's to a brilliant start to 2017!
    H x
  • Thank you, wasn't expecting anyone to read my post :)

Background stuff, our buyers want to knock the crap out of our house and put in a loft extension. We want to make little changes to new house and it's OK to move in to as it is (result!), new buyers would like us out end of Jan, they've been told not going to happen, but they're happy with that lol

I'm happy we're moving but....my DD was born here on the lounge floor where I'm sat (we have changed the carpet since!) DS showed us his climbing abilities by perching himself on the side of the cot to try & open the door just as I opened it. 16 years is a long time and I'm sad that the new people are going wipe that in a few months once we move :(

Nothing lasts forever and I can't get sad or upset, it's just life.

2017 throws us new challenges and new beginnings.

  • Good morning,

Final day of 2016 and then I can really start on my challenges for 2017 :j :T

Has anyone seen the mini horror film on FB about 2016? It's very well made and quite funny.

Plan today is sort out finances for January and make tags out of the Christmas cards. :money:

I'm not sad now, I'm positive, things are looking up and I'm sorry if I've harped on a bit too much recently.

Congrats on the offer pmo2, what a fab end to the year!
  • I'm always a bit sad to leave a place that has meant a lot to me, but moving on is part of life and letting go of places/things is getting easier for me, I think all the decluttering I've done has helped. My hub told me, if I don't let go of the old, there will be no room for the new (and quite possibly better!) to come into my life. I think he is right.

Will it be easier to get to your job from the new house?

That's got to be one of the best quotes I heard in a long time, thank you :)

It will be a bit longer train wise, but as I won't be dealing with the Southern trains anymore, it'll be worth it.
  • I need to keep those words in mind and remind myself that change is constant. I haven't reached the stage of embracing change with open arms yet but I am not clinging to the past either.

I have an aunt who lives in the past, her house is just as it was when her children lived there and her husband was still alive. She even cooks the same meals each night, even though some of them were favourites of my uncle but not her. It feels like she's just going through the motions, and it seems a very sad, unrewarding way to live, though she insists she's fine. It seems like a lot of wasted years to me. When I start to feel resistance within myself, I try to remember her and keep moving forward.
