Don't be ridiculous, this was posted over a year ago, he could be hitched now, he could be gay now, could even be dead for all we know!

    What?
    Who's being ridiculous?

The OP posted his question on 12/9/07.
In less than 4 days, he'd had 17 replies from people trying to help.
Do you really think he would have turned gay within that short space of time?
I'd say the odds against him dying in that timespan are pretty long odds too.

You're complaining now about him not coming back to say thank you. That's not 4 days since he asked is it.

What I meant was, why bring it up now, anything could have happened in that time, so is it really worth getting a bee in your bonnet about something which happened a year ago on this board?

I'm not COMPLAINING about him not coming back, I'm saying that this poster (like quite a few others) asks for advice and can't be bothered to acknowledge the help or advice he's been given.

I didn't say it was 4 days since he asked.
What I meant was - he could have acknowledged the advice and updated people with what we was going to do WITHIN THAT 4 DAYS.

I didn't bring it up - some newbie found a post that was over 2 years old and replied to it, thus bringing to the top of the board.

It didn't happen a year ago, it happened almost 2.5 years ago.

If you'd read ALL of the thread, you'd have noticed that both I and tattoed bum pointed out that the post was over 2 years old, I said it was a waste of time giving advice at this point.

Finally, I'm not getting a bee in my bonnet at all.

    DO WE CARE?

well, maybe not, but can we settle down now, please? :p

Much ado about nothing - it's obviously cold, wet and miserable outside or we wouldn't be squabbling like a bunch of kids cooped up and not allowed outside to play....:rotfl:

Oh I'll post anyway, it may help someone!

My ring is from Samson Gold in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. I have three diamonds, colour F, clarity VS1 (I think, could be SI1) totalling a carat between them, on platinum, and it cost 2k, with an insurance value of 4k.

Getting one made is the best option for that kind of money as you really can get a 'bargain' ie not get ripped off by high street stores.

And to those who say 'why do you need a ring that costs that much' and similar - why not? I'd have been cross if my OH had said he would only spend a few hundred quid on my engagement ring, especially as my family were paying for our wedding. Surely I'm worth a decent ring? ;)

Mind you, we both had houses so it wasn;t really a case of needing to save the 2k.

Can't you take advice or do you always have to have the last word?
