..is she really so shallow she needs a £3000 ring to prove to people you love her (Madonna, material girl springs to mind).

    (No offence meant)

   No, of course not!

Why do people think that adding the 'no offence meant' line means that offensive comments are no longer offensive?

I also like "no insult intended, but <insert insult here>"...

These phrases make me laugh all day at work :D

Quality, not quantity! A half-carat colourless. near-flawless diamond will have significantly more 'wow' factor than a 1-carat high-street special.

I also used and recommend Blue Nile. Although I was lucky to have bought in dollars when the exchange rate was favourable.

I'm planning on asking my girlfriend to marry me and I know she's always dreamt of a diamond ring. My budget is probably around £3000 but I could perhaps go a little higher. Quality and colour of the stone is more important than size, but I'd like an 0.75 carat minimum.. Her ring size might make off the shelf hard and will likely need adjusted as its a G

    Did she say yes??

    Are you married yet??:D

Or, "I hope you don't mind me saying but........."

Usually means that yes, you are going to mind.

    LOL:rotfl:

I guess it doesn't matter how old the post is. People are obviously popping in here because they are interested. Hopefully we can impart some knowledge for those who will be looking and still are looking for "The Diamond".
