Plusnet change help!

Options
plusnet are offering me 2.50 broadband charge per month 16.99 rental fee to stay for 12 months, this is without me calling them for an offer. Should I still call them and ask them for a counter offer? I don't see any other ones worth it at the moment.

Or is it worth me going for the BT as there is quidco cashback and reward card offer until tomorrow?

Should I call to be released from contract by plusnet then apply for BT via quidco, does this mean I wont have broadband during the changeover?

Comments

  • Bear in mind that Plusnet line rental increases to 17.99 from 1 September.

You haven't stated how much the BT deal works out at for you, but if the saving's enough, then switch. Don't forget the postage charge for the home hub.

Some on this forum have had to chase for the cashback and quidco has been declined, so factor that in too.

Overall I would probably stay with Plusnet but it's down to how you view the risks and reward.

<Should I call to be released from contract>>
If you are in contract then you pay the remaining months .But if you have had the price increase email then you have to phone up PN to be released from contract penalty free .

yes you're right about the Quidco things it is a risk. i called them they offered me the same again and sent me an email to confirm but I also have the option to pay off full annual amount and further save £5 a month so I think I will go with this.

...surprised that they are offering an annual payment for b/band - several people have tried to get a further discount by offering to pay 12 months (or more) upfront but PN says NO!:(
You can pay line rental upfront but ALR comes out at the equivalent of £15.49 per month currently,so only a saving of £1.50 pm on your original quote.
  • Yes, think you'd still have to pay the £2.50 per month for broadband. The line rental saver will save you 2.50 per month after 1 Sep (17.99-15.49).

Yes i found that I would still be paying that 2.50 on top which because I did the annual payment pays for itself so a reduction of 27.98 to 17.99 per month, plus I paid annual fee on my 0% interest credit card.
