Does anyone have any experience with O2travel outside EU countries
I'm going to Japan and Peru but will need to be in contact with home while I'm away, Landline only. o2travel I think costs 4.99 per day if used for 120 mins + some data per 24 hours. But the 4.99 charges do not apply if they ring you but it does use your 120 mins which is fine for me . If home rings me on my mobile will my landline be charged for international call ?
Or does anyone have any cheaper ways to ring home. Unfortunately it is landline only or mobile ( not smart phone ) in the uk
Thanks for any help.

If a UK landline rings a UK mobile number that is what is charged.
If the mobile happens to be roaming abroad the mobile picks up the extra charge not the landline
