Virginmedia retentions not calling me

Hi all

Has anyone had any experience of VM retentions not calling ? My loyalty discount ran out recently so I handed in my notice, however retentions are not calling me. I was on £18/mth which increased to £28 for 70mb cable broadband only. After about 27 days of my notice period I rang up to extend my notice period by another month but they still haven't called. I'm confident they have my mobile number and I haven't missed any calls. Any suggestions ?

Thanks all.

Maybe they are calling your bluff?

Quite possibly they are. I wondered if there is anything I can do, though ?

Pay the new price or move to another provider, they arent calling your bluff, they are letting you go

How long ago did you cancel? They usually wait up to a week before calling.

I think you better drop package or move else where

they cant make any money off you at that price, so they move on to other customers who have cancelled where they can.

They are also noticibly tighter with discounts at the moment and the inbound retention team are refusing to take phone numbers in case they want to call back.

The guy wouldnt take my mobile - we've now had FOUR missed calls from the outbound retention team on the landline...*sigh*
  • I recently was paying 25.75 for up to 152mbps.....that includes a 10 pounds per month locality discount.

They flatly refused to continue the discount and so I cancelled with them, got a call about a week later offering several deals.
But the package I was on was upto 152mbps, which isn't available no more, so I was offered upto 100mbps !!

So a slower product for the same amount of money, I declined that offer and they called back about 2 days later saying I can have the upto 200mpbs for my original 25.75 a month.

    Happy with that
  • Retentions didn't call me by the end of my notice period. I called the normal way number on day 29 and they offered £26 for 50mb, 12 month contract. Seemed best I cou do.

That's good if it includes the LR.
