Can anyone advise me. I rent a flat with a designated parking space and the maintenance company decided to impose a permit scheme which I refused have refused to display a permit in my car. I do not feel I need permission to park in my own space. I have received a court claim for £1,100 for 5 tickets. I have sent my defence to the court and I am now waiting to hear about any response from the claimants. Just to confuse matters the claimants have sold my alleged debt to a debt recovery company.
Is there any help out there for me please?

What does your AST say about parking, actual wording please? Who are the PPC and the DCA? How do they account for £200+ an event? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Uh oh! I hope you haven't submitted a defence through the on-line MCOL system without consulting here first and getting your defence reviewed. No matter how weak their case, if you have put in a pathetic defence without all the correct legal points, you will either lose, or have to spend £225 to change your defence to something more robust. Please tell us what you have said.I have sent my defence to the court0

You need to calm down and post the actual facts and companies involved timescales etc. for the regulars to assist you, as above.
Are you sure the debt HAS been sold to a debt collector, if it has i'm sure it would be them that are instigating the court clam?0

And would the debt recovery company just happen to be MIL Collections Ltd by any chance?
If you have already submitted a defence then time is short to prepare a full version. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Concise details are needed for the people on here to help you, its all too vague. What does your lease say about permits?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The OP has been parking in their own space - it sure as hell stops anyone else! They're not here complaining about someone parking in their space.
So what help are you offering? Any background in fighting private parking charges? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Please familiarise yourself with the sordid world of private parking companies and the way they operate before you make glib comments about it.glentoran99 wrote: »strange way of looking at things, its to stop others parking in your space,0

OP stubbornness has caused the problem, regardless of sordid world of parking companies0
