All to do with the new ones being a " modification'

So it's his call. But the cost of cancellation plus no Ncd for the part year and a new policy elsewhere could be a lot more than £330 he wants to spend!

Son has a damaged Alloy wheel (standard manufacturer fit) that will cost £190 to replace the one Alloy. Can purchase an alternative new full set for £330 but if he does this insurance company won't insure him as he's 19 but will if he pays the £190 for the one damaged. ?????

You should probably start your own thread.

They will insure him for the standard alloys that came with the car, but won't if he buys an alternative, different, set? That is because you're then 'modifying' the car.

    Or don't do it.

Are the alloys really needed, do they affect the driving of the car ?

    No to both questions.
